Elizabeth Craft Designs Poinsettia Wreath

And this is the second to the last Christmas card post for 2023 cards. Yeah!

Elizabeth Craft Designs Small Doilies

The background is Elizabeth Craft Designs paper.

The flowers are die cut and painted with Distress Mica Stains (such a cool shimmer). I added some Mini Art Stones to the flower centers that I colored with alcohol ink.

The wreath is die cut and I left all the pieces in around the edges.

The sentiment is also die cut.

Supplies:

    • Elizabeth Craft Designs Small Doilies die set
    • Elizabeth Craft Designs Florals 24 die set
    • Scrapbook dot com Merry Christmas die
    • Distress Mica Stains
    • Prima Mini Art Stones

Elizabeth Craft Designs October Planner Page Challenge

Here is my planner page for the Elizabeth Craft Designs challenge for October which was a rainbow theme. Definitely late getting this one done. But it is done!

Elizabeth Craft Designs

While coming up with a rainbow idea I started with rainbow leaves and then… November is leaves so I set that aside and picked the birds. I love how they came out.

The background is Reminiscence paper with stamping and heat embossing.

The birds are heat embossed and “painted” with Distress Mica Stains and then die cut.

Entered in the Love Handmade Cards November Challenge in Flickr.

  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Reminiscence Paper
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Forever stamp & die set
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Bloom stamp set
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Happy stamp set
  • Elizabeth Craft Designs Lost in the Woods stamp set

Tim Holtz Stamptember 2023 Christmas Card

Here is a card I used using a Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers sketch for October and the Tim Holtz Stamptember 2023 stamp set. Lucky me to get the Stamptember set. It’s a good one!

Honeybee Stamps Barn Wood Planks

This one was fun because I finally used the wood planks die and used mica stains on them. I also like that reindeer wreath a lot.

The wood planks are die cut and colored with Distress Mica Stains. The deer wreath and sentiment are heat embossed and the wreath colored with Copics.

Supplies:

    • Honeybee Stamps Sentiment Banners
    • Tim Holtz Simon Says Stamp Stamptember 2023 stamp & die set
    • Honeybee Stamps Barn Wood Planks die set
    • Distress Mica Stains
    • Copic Markers
    • Gold embossing powder

Elizabeth Craft Designs Christmas Garden Poinsettia

I found a few cards from a little bit ago that I didn’t post. And yeah there’s a few Christmas cards.

For this card I used the September sketch from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers group in FB.

I heat embossed the flower and “painted” it using Distress Mica Stains. The sentiment is heat embossed.

Supplies:

    • Elizabeth Craft Designs Christmas Garden stamp set
    • Silver embossing powder
    • Distress Mica Stains

Elizabeth Craft Designs Warm Winter Mug Christmas

Another one added to the Christmas card stash.

I used Elizabeth Craft Designs dies for the mug and flowers. I inked around the edge of the mug. The whipped cream was cut from white paper but I inked that to tone down the white.

The flowers are “painted” with Distress Mica Stains (a very cool look).

The sentiment is heat embossed & die cut.

Hero Gold Paste around the edges.

A close up of the flowers. They looks so nice in person!

Honey Bee Stamps Mugs & Kisses Christmas Card

Here is a card that I was making for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers hop. It didn’t quite make it but I also had the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #11 in mind too.

Penny Black Happy Holly Days

So… about the background on my card. It was an interesting and kind of accidental thing. First I sprayed several colors of green Distress Mica Stains on some paper. I will say this about the Mica Stains…. I love the colors and the mica shimmer. However I am not a fan of the splotchy sprayed look. So my panel looked awesome but a bit to much of the splotchy look so I inked over it using some Distress Oxide inks. It still was not looking how I wanted. I took a wet wipe and wiped over it. You can tell that now that you know. The shimmer doesn’t show in the photo but it is there and I love how it turned out. Know that there are many ways to use the Mica Stains and they are awesome. I like smooshing and you can paint with them.

Are you still with me? Ha. The rest is straight forward. I die cut the mugs (a very cool set with the two mugs with the handles in different directions) from some really pretty holly paper and then die cut the whipped cream, coffee and steam. Also the sentiment is die cut.

I am super pleased with how this card came out and that background looks pretty darn cool in person. We know sometimes the photos just don’t say it all.

Entered over at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge. You still have a few days to enter this challenge.

Tim Holtz Pumpkin Duo Halloween Card

Today I have a card I created for the Tim Holtz Addicts Halloween 2022 challenge. They rarely do challenges so I had to jump in. And… I had the new Pumpkin Duo dies I was excited to play with along with the new Mica Stains. I also decided most of the things on the card needed Mica Stain… It was fun to create and I just kept finding things to add to it.

Distress Mica Stain

Let’s start with the background. I made that long ago using one of my very favorite techniques which is ink smooshing. I think I probably used Hickory Smoke and maybe Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks.

For everything else on the card it has Mica Stain on it. The bats, spiders, and cat I die cut from black Distress Kraft-Stock and then “painted” on the Mica Stain. I sprayed the gates.  For the rest I sprayed Mica Stain on to watercolor paper and then die cut from that.  So everything has shimmer to it, sometimes very subtle.

I used several different die sets to cut out all the things.

Supplies:
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Pumpkin Duo die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Swirling Stars die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Spider Web die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Vault Series die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Ghost Town #2 die set
  • Tim Holtz Mica Stains – Harvest Moon, Iron Gate. Yellows, greens and oranges (older and new)
  • Distress Oxide inks – smooshed background

Tim Holtz Leaf Print Die Cutting

Hello! Since I ran out of time making Thanksgiving cards I made a few Fall cards. For this card I was inspired by Kath Stewart’s card here. She is one of Tim Holtz designers and her projects often catch my eye.

Tim Holtz Leaf Print

For the background I created a smooshed Distress Ink panel. I stamped on it using the Floral Outlines stamp and the Ledger Script stamp by Tim Holtz. I also stuck a couple pieces of washi tape on it which I very rarely do. Then I cut out just the whole leaf without the detail from the background panel.

For the leaves I cut them out of panels I made with Distress Inks and Mica Stains by Tim Holtz. I also used some good old brown cardstock. Some of the leaves have pieces inlaid and on some I cut out the detailed outline/veining and glued it on top of a whole leaf I cut out. Hope that made sense. After putting the leaves together I inlaid them in the background panel.

The sentiment is stamped.
