Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Salad

Here is a little quick card that I made to thank someone for giving me a Cherokee Purple tomato plant that she started from seed. That is my favorite tomato to grow. I got it from the Buy Nothing Group in FB. I have been gifted several plant cuttings and starts which makes me happy!

This is kind of a quick card. I stamped all the tomatoes using the Hero Arts stamp set. Funny thing I had this in my pile of stamps to pass on and ended up pulling it back out to use. I used Distress Oxide ink for all the stamping and coloring of the die cut pieces.

For the die cuts I used the Tim Holtz set Crochet.

The sentiment is a stamp from a Winnie & Walter set.

Supplies:

  • Hero Arts Stamp Your Own Salad
  • Winnie & Walter In a Word: Thanks
  • Sizzix/Tim Holtz Crochet
  • Distress Oxide inks

Tim Holtz Festive Trims Christmas Card

Here is a card I created for the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog hop. Plus.. another one done for the end of the year.

Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon

For the background I used Distress Cracked Leather Cardstock and Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. And surprisingly, if you have seen some of my other posts, I used the smooshing technique (I do this often).

I inked all of the die cuts using Distress Oxide ink.

The sentiment is die cut and from the Christmas Ribbon die set. The rest of the die cuts are from the Festive Trims die set.

Tim Holtz Pine Branch Die Set Christmas Card

Here we go with a Christmas card I made awhile ago. I was kind of playing around and trying some things.

Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil

For the background I used some Distress Oxides (Frayed Burlap, Evergreen Bough, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen). I used the Gothic stencil with grit paste and went over the paste with Tarnished Brass Crayon. I also stamped using the swirl and text from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Poinsettia set.

The pine cones and branches are colored with Distress Oxide ink and die cut using the Tim Holtz Pine Branch set.

The sentiment is stamped using a stamp from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Poinsettia set.

Supplies:

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Pine Branch die set
  • Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil
  • Ranger Grit Paste
  • Distress Crayon – Tarnished Brass
  • Distress Oxide inks
  • Stampers Anonymous The Poinsettia stamp set

Tim Holtz Snowglobe Christmas Card

Here I go finally posting my Tim Holtz Snowglobe card. I made it some time ago but I am just getting around to posting it.

Tim Holtz Paper Stash

I used the fab Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe #2 set to create this card. This is the first time I put this together and I am very happy how it turned out.

There are many pieces to this but I kind of see it like a puzzle. I just cut out the pieces from different colored pieces of paper. I inked around the edges of some. The one tip I would give is cut out the glow in the windows using bigger pieces. I cut out all those little pieces and glued them in.

The sky background is done with blue and purple Distress Oxide inks. I did some ink smooshing. Shocking I know.

The sentiment is heat embossed.

The background paper behind the globe is from the Tim Holtz Paper Stash pad Christmas/Noel. I inked around the edges.

Supplies:

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe #2
  • Distress Oxide ink
  • Tim Holtz Paper Stash Christmas/Noel paper pad
  • White Embossing Powder

Hero Arts Nasturtium Mini Slim Line Card

Howdy!

I have a mini slimline card for you today. I haven’t made that many slimline cards so far. I made this for the Hero Arts Scramble group in Facebook. The theme this time is mini slimline 3 1/2 X 6.

Hero Arts It's Your Day

To begin my card I ink blended over a stencil.

I then stamped the flower image right on top of that. My intention was to just color everything in since the background green is kind of light. I tried that and decided the flowers weren’t looking right. You know the right and left turns of making a card. I colored all the leaves in with Copics right over the background. For the flowers I also colored with Copics but I stamped them on a separate paper and hand cut them out. Then I glued them over the stamped image on the card.

The sentiment is stamped.

Entered in the Love Handmade Cards challenge in Flickr for March.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Pine Branch Christmas Card

Here is another one of my Christmas cards. Slowly building up the stash.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon

For the background I did some Distress ink smooshing on Distress Cracked Leather paper with a couple of Distress inks including Crackling Campfire. I also added in a little gold metallic ink.
I used the Sizzix Pine Branch die set to cut out the pine cones and branches. I colored the pine cones and branches with Distress Oxide ink and Distress inks. I then glued the pine cones on to some brown paper and hand cut around them.  Each pine branch is cut in two.
I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon die and some Distress Kraft-Stock metallic paper to die cut the sentiment.

Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Papillon Birthday Card

Now for a butterfly birthday card.

Well here we go with the how to and I actually found some notes about creating the main panel on this one. They were helpful notes but needed a bit more detail. I made the panel probably about 6 months ago. I sprayed some Distress Spray Stain (maybe Oxide versions of the color) on mixed media paper. I stamped over that using a flower stamp and maybe white Distress paint. I used another stamp, I See Paris, to stamp in white also. The butterflies were stamped with Distress Oxide Ground Expresso and it was a second generation stamping.

The sentiment turned out a bit awkward. I am not sure that I like where it is located and the brown ink that looks black would have been better in a brown that was not so dark.

The background paper is from a Tim Holtz Christmas paper pad.

Supplies:

  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Papillon stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz I See Paris stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Mini Bouquet stamp set
  • Distress Spray Stain (Oxide or Distress not sure)
  • Distress Paint Picket Fence
  • Distress Oxide Ink
  • Clearly Besotted Say What? stamp set
  • idea-ology Christmas/Noel paper pad

Sizzix Tim Holtz Mini Paper Snowflakes

Today I have a couple snowflake cards I created.

Since I created these about a month ago and did not take good notes I may not remember all the details.

For the backgrounds I used Distress and Distress Oxide Inks. I did smooshing and a bit of splattering.

For one set of snowflakes and sentiment I used the Tim Holtz foil sheets and it looks like Alcohol ink. The other set of snowflakes and sentiment I am not sure what I did. Possibly I used the metallic paper.

The snowflakes are die cut using the Sizzix die set Mini Paper Snowflakes.

The sentiments are die cut using the Sizzix die set Script Holiday Words.

Distress Oxide Ink

Supplies:

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Script Holiday Words die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Mini Paper Snowflakes die set
  • Distress Ink
  • Distress Oxide Ink
  • Alcohol Ink

Tim Holtz Crazy Cats Birthday Card

Recently I made a card for a friend that has two cats. Of course I had to use some Tim Holtz cats. I used Crazy Cats. I am really happy how this turned out.

Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things

The background for my card is a piece I created some time ago. I think I smooshed some Distress Oxide ink onto watercolor paper. I stamped the yarn balls and fish bones, from the Crazy Cats set, using a brown Distress Oxide ink. It is hard to see but I also stamped the numbers from the Faded Type stamp set in a light green Distress Oxide ink. They are kind of hard to spot.

The sentiment is stamped.

For the cats I ink blended Black Soot and Hickory Smoke. I then stamped the cats over the ink and heat embossed using black embossing powder. I stamped the eyes again and cut them out and glued them to the cats and added Glossy Accents. I cut the cats out by hand.

The present and the balloon is from the Crazy Things set. I smooshed some Distress Oxide on a mat and watercolored the present. For the balloon I used a glaze pen to make it shiny. The milk bottle is from Crazy Cats set and it has Glossy Accents on it and the label is colored in with a Copic pen. I cut all of these out by hand. The balloon string was drawn on.

Entered over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge with the theme We’re On A Roll. I have a couple balls of yarn stamped on my background.

Supplies:

  • Stampers Anonymous Crazy Cats stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Sayin Stuff stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Faded Type stamp set
  • Sakura Glaze pen
  • Distress Oxide inks
  • Glossy Accents

Thanksgiving Cards Using Stamplistic The Great Pumpkin

Now for a few Thanksgiving cards on this post. Playing catch up still…

I stamped this interesting pumpkin a few times and did different things with it. Which one is your favorite?

For this one I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out by hand. I think I put some foam tape under it for some dimension. The background is Tim Holtz woodgrain paper with Distress ink and maybe some Distress Crayon. The sentiment is stamped.

The background for this is smooshed inks and then I used a few Tim Holtz stamps on it.  The crooked sentiment is stamped. For this pumpkin I stamped different sections on different colors of ink smooshed papers and cut them out by hand. The stem, vine and leaves are all paper pieced on the pumpkin.

And last but not least.. This pumpkin was stamped on kraft paper and then colored with pencils. As you can probably see I did not cut this one out but just layered up the panels.

Supplies:

  • Stamplistic The Great Pumpkin stamp
  • Tim Holtz Woodgrain paper
  • Distress Inks
  • Distress Oxide Inks
  • Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz The Poinsettia stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Faded Type stamp set
  • Prismacolor Pencils
