Heat Embossing with Michael Strong Cloisonne Butterfly

I had some fun heat embossing using an older stamp I have. I also used my Color Burst which has not been out in quite awhile.

Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Bold

Let’s see if I can remember what I did on this card. For the background I used a Cover Plate die to cut out the shapes from a ink smooshed panel. I die cut and then used Press N Seal to keep all the pieces aligned. While the pieces are still on the Press N Seal I put glue on the pieces and glued them to the white panel. A few fell off but it is easy enough to get them back in the pattern.

The butterfly is heat embossed on a piece of paper colored using Color Burst. There is also some shimmer on the butterfly. I cut the butterfly out by hand.

The Hello is die cut.

Supplies:

  • Michael Strong Cloisonne Butterfly cling stamp
  • Color Burst
  • Distress Ink
  • Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Bold die set
  • Papertrey Ink Quatre Foil Cover Plate die

Tim Holtz Scribbly Butterflies Thank You Card

I have a butterfly thank you card for you today. I like butterflies and need to use them more often.

Tim Holtz Ledger Script

So happy with how my card turned out considering I wasn’t sure about the background colors when I first made it. I started off smooshing Distress inks for the background which I did some time back. I used Distress Inks Speckled Egg, Wilted Violet, Wild Honey. I cut the butterflies out and they were just sitting around. You know how finally some pieces  just fall together.

When I started putting this together I stamped over that smooshed background with a flower stamp using Distress Paint and and text stamp using Distress Ink.

I die cut the butterflies and sentiment from black paper and then put some Antique Bronze Distress Paint on them.

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Scribbly Butterflies die set
  • Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Ledger Script stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous Dried Flower woodblock stamp
  • Distress Paint – Antiqued Bronze

Tim Holtz Pine Branch Die Set Christmas Card

Here we go with a Christmas card I made awhile ago. I was kind of playing around and trying some things.

Tim Holtz Gothic Stencil

For the background I used some Distress Oxides (Frayed Burlap, Evergreen Bough, Pumice Stone, Antique Linen). I used the Gothic stencil with grit paste and went over the paste with Tarnished Brass Crayon. I also stamped using the swirl and text from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Poinsettia set.

The pine cones and branches are colored with Distress Oxide ink and die cut using the Tim Holtz Pine Branch set.

The sentiment is stamped using a stamp from the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Poinsettia set.

Tim Holtz Wildflower Stems 2 Birthday Card

This one got by me… So here I am to get it posted. Some Tim Holtz flowers for my sister.

Tim Holtz Distress Reinkers

For the background I used some Tim Holtz woodgrain paper. It was already ink blended. Then I added to it using crayons Bundled Sage and Tea Dye to give it some highlights. I splattered some Antique Linen Distress paint on it also.

The flowers are die cut and water colored using reinkers.

The sentiment is made by die cutting a banner and ink blending Distress Oxide ink. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz set Saying Stuff stamp set.

Easter Cards… Lots of Easter Cards

Hello and Happy Easter! I had so much fun creating all of these Easter cards. They are similar in some ways but each is different and the ideas just kept coming. I find that the more I stay in creative mode the more ideas come. So here we go, grab a cup of coffee or tea. As you will see as you scroll down looking at the cards I kind of the like the Tim Holtz Bunny Hop die set. I also had about 20 some Distress Oxide inks on my desk that I used on the cards.

Adding 2 more cards… no more though.

I had to try the kraft bunnies.. They are die cut using the Bunny Hop die set. The background is ink smooshed with Distress Oxide inks. The plants are die cut using the Funky Nature die set & ink blended. The pot is ink blended and embossed with the woodgrain embossing folder. The eggs are die cut from ink smooshed panels.
This is for a friend that likes nice bright colors. The background is a Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The bunnies are die cut with the Bunny Hop die set and ink blended. The eggs are die cut using the Funky Foliage die set and are ink blended.
I need to give some credit on this one. I was inspired by a very cool card made by Fredrikke Andrea Peterson in the Tim Holtz Addicts group. The bunnies are die cut, using the Bunny Hop die set, from ink smooshed panels. The eggs were cut using the Funky Nature die set and some ink smooshed paper. All the background plants are die cut also using the Funky Nature die set. I ink smooshed the plant dies after die cutting. The background was inking over the TH Honeycomb stencil. Entered over at the Love Handmade Cards April Challenge in Flickr.
The background is embossed using the Intertwined 3D embossing folder and then ink blended after embossing. The bunnies are die cut from Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The eggs are die cut and ink blended.
The background is ink blended. The basket was die cut with the Potted die and embossed with the Intertwined 3D embossing folder. The bunnies cut from Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The eggs die cut and ink blended.
What can I say but I love how these wallpaper bunnies came out. The background was die cut using the Papertrey Ink Quatrefoil die and then I ink blended over it. I kept all the pieces in the background die cut. Bunnies were die cut from Tim Holtz Worn Wallpaper Scraps and inked around the edges.
The background is cut out using the Papertrey Ink Quatrefoil die and this time all the pieces were not kept. Bunnies are die cut from an ink smooshed panel. The basket is done using the Potted die and the Intertwined 3D embossing folder and then ink blended on it. The grass was die cut using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die and then ink blended. The eggs are die cut and ink blended.
For this I had the idea for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers hop but didn’t get it done for that. But.. it is done now. For the background I die cut some clouds and temporarily attached them and then ink blended over the background. Then I removed the cloud die cuts. The mug is die cut using the Lawn Fawn die set Outside In Stitched Mug and Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The eggs are die cut and ink blended. The grass is ink blended and die cut using the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die. The bunnies just die cut.
Aww the cute bunny by Hero Arts. I stamped the bunny scene on watercolor paper. I used Distress ink reinkers to watercolor. The bunny turned out darker than I wanted but he is so cute. I used part of the Memory Box Egg Basket Frame die set to cut a frame for the bunny scene.
This card I made from a kit from Creative Escape in Los Gatos, CA. They have something called Facebook Fridays and you get a little kit to make a card. The flowers and bunny are felt which is fun!
Another Hero Arts Garden Bunny card. This time colored with Copics. I like this lighter brown much better. Die cut using a Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles.
Ink smooshed background. Die cut grass colored with a Copic pen. Basket, bunny, peep, eggs are from the Two Paper Divas stamp set, colored with Copics and cut out by hand.

Tim Holtz Snowglobe Christmas Card

Here I go finally posting my Tim Holtz Snowglobe card. I made it some time ago but I am just getting around to posting it.

Tim Holtz Paper Stash

I used the fab Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe #2 set to create this card. This is the first time I put this together and I am very happy how it turned out.

There are many pieces to this but I kind of see it like a puzzle. I just cut out the pieces from different colored pieces of paper. I inked around the edges of some. The one tip I would give is cut out the glow in the windows using bigger pieces. I cut out all those little pieces and glued them in.

The sky background is done with blue and purple Distress Oxide inks. I did some ink smooshing. Shocking I know.

The sentiment is heat embossed.

The background paper behind the globe is from the Tim Holtz Paper Stash pad Christmas/Noel. I inked around the edges.

Supplies:

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Snowglobe #2
  • Distress Oxide ink
  • Tim Holtz Paper Stash Christmas/Noel paper pad
  • White Embossing Powder

Hero Arts Nasturtium Mini Slim Line Card

Howdy!

I have a mini slimline card for you today. I haven’t made that many slimline cards so far. I made this for the Hero Arts Scramble group in Facebook. The theme this time is mini slimline 3 1/2 X 6.

Hero Arts It's Your Day

To begin my card I ink blended over a stencil.

I then stamped the flower image right on top of that. My intention was to just color everything in since the background green is kind of light. I tried that and decided the flowers weren’t looking right. You know the right and left turns of making a card. I colored all the leaves in with Copics right over the background. For the flowers I also colored with Copics but I stamped them on a separate paper and hand cut them out. Then I glued them over the stamped image on the card.

The sentiment is stamped.

Entered in the Love Handmade Cards challenge in Flickr for March.

Entered over at A Blog Named Hero for the March challenge.

  • Hero Arts It’s Your Day

Sizzix Tim Holtz Pine Branch Christmas Card

Here is another one of my Christmas cards. Slowly building up the stash.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon

For the background I did some Distress ink smooshing on Distress Cracked Leather paper with a couple of Distress inks including Crackling Campfire. I also added in a little gold metallic ink.
I used the Sizzix Pine Branch die set to cut out the pine cones and branches. I colored the pine cones and branches with Distress Oxide ink and Distress inks. I then glued the pine cones on to some brown paper and hand cut around them.  Each pine branch is cut in two.
I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon die and some Distress Kraft-Stock metallic paper to die cut the sentiment.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Feathered Friends Birthday Card

Howdy! I am happy to say I think this wraps up my January cards. I have another Tim Holtz bird card for you. I love how this one came out. It may just a bit brighter here in the photo than it is in person.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers die set

For the background I used the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper. Below you can see the panel before I added all the die cuts on top. That is probably closer to the real color of it. I ink blended Peacock Feathers and Gathered Twigs on that woodgrain paper. I went over the knots with a Distress Crayon to highlight them. I inked around the edges of the panel also.

I die cut some things from the Wildflowers die set and colored them with Lucky Clover and inked a tad around the edges with a brown. I glued those to the background and over the pot.

I die cut the pot from some woodgrain patterned paper and ended up going over it with ink.  I added a few highlights with a dark brown Distress crayon. The band was also die cut and I used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on it.

The birds were die cut from watercolor paper. I like using for it’s watercolor properties of course and it also gives some texture. I watercolored the birds using Rusty Hinge & Wild Honey inks for the bigger bird and Milled Lavender & Seedless Preserves for the smaller bird.

I just love how the woodgrain paper looks with whatever color on it and the knots highlighted. So here is a view before it got covered up.

Supplies:

  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers die set
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Potted BigZ die
  • Sizzix Tim Holtz Feathered Friends die set
  • Tim Holtz Woodgrain paper
  • Tim Holtz Watercolor paper
  • Distress Inks

Tim Holtz Feathered Cardinal Or Is It

Ha just having a little fun. Of course it is a cardinal but I created my first card with it and made it a blue jay. I am not sure why but that is the way it went. I actually love cardinals and wish I could see one in person. We do not have them where I live.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Celebration Words ScriptI had some fun doing some different things with this card! The background… I will just say I love the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper! I ink blended over the woodgrain and then went over the knots in the wood with a Distress crayon.

The die cut wreaths have grit paste on them that is mixed with two different Distress brown reinker colors.

The green sprigs are die cut and colored with Distress ink.

The blue jay was die cut from watercolor paper using the Feathered Cardinal die. I used Black Soot, Speckled Egg, Chipped Sapphire and Faded Jeans Distress ink on it. There is a little drop of Nuvo Drops for the birds eye.

For something a little different than I usually do I die cut the sentiment for the inside of the card. It was die cut from the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper and I tapped it all over with two different Distress inks.

  • Tim Holtz woodgrain paper
  • Distress ink
