Book Page Floral Thank You Card

Book Page Floral Thank You

Here’s a card I finally put together using a piece I had around for quite some time. I have so many boxes of different things, time to use them.

The background I just stamped with the flower image using Versamark ink.

The book page is from a little stack of book pages that I got at the coolest Scrapbooking shop in Laramie, Wyoming called Scrap Tree. I ran into it on a vacation. I don’t have the heart to rip apart a book so this was a good find for me. The paper is older so it is a bit delicate. You cannot use a paper trimmer because the paper rips. So slowly cut it with scissors. Anyway I stamped this flower and colored it a long time ago. I always liked it so I pulled it out and here it is. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx black which is such a nice bold black ink.

Supplies:

  • Flower & Stem – Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Flower Garden
  • Flower on Background – Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Mini Bouquet
  • Sentiment – Clearly Besotted Say What?
  • Copic Pens
  • Versamark ink
  • Versafine Onyx Black ink

This is a card I recently put together with some of the many pieces I have collected/saved.

For the background I sprayed it with probably Heidi Swapp color shine. It’s been awhile since I did it.

The flowers are Hero Arts set Delicate Blossoms (CL449) which I have always really liked. I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils.

The sentiment is also Hero Arts from the It’s Your Day set (CL661). It’s probably stamped with Versafine onyx black ink. I just love that ink.

Entered in the a2z Scrapbooking April Challenge with a theme of Flower Power.

Silhouette Safari #2

I really like the silhouette look and after I made my flower silhouette cards I wanted to make a couple with the June 2017 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit. This is the first time I finally got it out and used it.

To start off you rip a piece of paper in half and tape it down spaced apart over some nice white card stock such as Bristol paper and blend 3 colors of Distress Oxide inks. I think maybe they are my favorite inks. The Bristol paper changed my world for ink blending.

For both cards I used the June 2017 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero card kit.  I stamped the images and sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black and I love this ink too. The top card is all stamping. I need to get a sentiment on it and I am pretty sure I will be sending it to an ill boy. I lined up most of the images in my Misti and then stamped them on the card.

For the bottom card I stamped and cut out some images with the die set from the card kit. The sentiment on the second card is from Hero Arts set It’s Your Day (CL661). Funny story about the second card. I grabbed a piece of black paper to cut out the animals and man. I made the card and sent it off. Well when I went to move the paper scraps over near another piece of black paper I noticed that no that paper is dark brown not black. So.. the stamping is the Versafine onyx black ink and the die cuts are dark brown.

If you would like to join in sending a card to Jacob who is ill here is the information.
I first found out about him from Linda W. one of the members in the Hero Arts and Love Handmade Cards Flickr groups. You can see her card for Jacob on her blog post here. LaVon another member of these groups is also helping to spread the word. Here is her card. I used some of her wording for my post here.
Jacob is suffering from a rare and deadly illness. For the past 14 years he has marked each of his birthday’s as a victory in his battle. He gets great joy from each of the cards he receives.
There is a goal to get him 100,000 birthday cards for his 15th birthday this year. His birthday is August 28th.
The address for the card is:

Silhouette Flowers

Silhouette and Oxide Inks

I really like the silhouette look and I ran across some cards here that inspired me to make these.

To start off you rip a piece of paper in half and tape it down spaced apart over some nice white card stock such as Bristol paper which changed my world for Distress Ink blending. I used 3 Distress Oxide inks. I think maybe they are my favorite inks.

For the card on the left I used the Hero Arts set You’re So Lovely and the Clearly Besotted set for the sentiment. I almost forgot.. You can’t see it to well but over the blended ink in the background I used a leafy stamp from the You’re So Lovely set and stamped with Versamark. I stamped the images and sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black and I love this ink too. Very bold and the images are nice and sharp.

For the card on the right I used the Stampers Anonymous set for the flowers and the SSS set for the sentiment. I really like this look and how they came out.
Hero Arts set – You’re So Lovely (CL949)
Clearly Besotted – Say What? (CBSSA421)
Simon Says Stamp – Birthday Messages (SSS101391)
Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz set – Mini Bouquet set (CMS269)
