For my card today I pulled out a fairly old Hero Arts set that I have hardly used but really like. It is called Love Jar.
The base panel is the Lawn Fawn plaid which is some of my favorite paper.
The Love Jar set comes with all of the images except the sentiment. I stamped the mason jar on vellum. I cut the jar out by hand. For the flowers I put Hero Arts Reactive inks on the stamps and stamped with them. I also put a bit of the ink on my craft mat and “painted” over the flowers and leaves to make them a bit more vibrant. I then went over them with a sparkle pen.
The rectangle sentiment piece is stamped using a stamp from the Love Jar set. I used a little of the ink on the mat to color in the rectangle. I might have added a little yellow in there with the orange. I cut out the rectangle by hand. The sentiment is stamped. The sentiment was in one long line but I cut it in pieces to fit the space. I am a little braver about cutting my stamps apart than I used to be.

Hello again.. I am here today with some alcohol ink fun. After seeing Tim Holtz demo them recently I got them out and played.
For this background I started with Yupo paper and purple, pink, and gold mixative alcohol inks. I also used 91% alcohol, blending solution, and an air blowing thing to move the ink around.
The flower stems are die cut.
The sentiment is heat embossed on vellum and the strip die cut.

Hello to you all! Here we are cruising through summer and it is a new month and time for a new challenge over at a2z Scrapbooking. For the August challenge we have a birthday theme. Always a good one because we all need those. I pretty much never buy cards anymore.
For today’s card I decided to use a digital image. I was also trying to have it be something I could send to a guy. It’s so easy to do the girly stuff but not so easy to make the guy cards.
I created this card using the Party Animal Sugartree Stamps digital image in the a2z Scrapbooking Etsy store. As you can see it has no animals on the card. This set is fun because there are a couple animals along with a cupcake, cake and several sentiments. I like the repeated image for the background so that is what I did for this. I got one cupcake to the size I wanted and then just did a copy and paste many times so that I had a background of cupcakes. I enlarged a cupcake which is the one I colored with Copic pens and cut out.
The sentiment is die cut from the same paper that is on the background. I colored over it with a Copic pen to minimize the circle pattern.
The vellum that covers the cupcake background worked out good to tone them down some.
This looks like a simple card and it is. But you crafty folks know how it goes.. I had a paper pad and was trying all these different pattern papers from it and it just wasn’t working. Finally I like this one and I think it helps with trying to have a more masculine look. The vellum was a last minute thing that just happened because I was cleaning up something and ran across the vellum and thought this would work on my card.
For this past week’s challenge at Merry Monday it was an inspiration photo. I did not enter mine in the challenge but the red peppermints stood out to me.
Here is my take on it.
I used the Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz stamp to stamp the peppermint candies on vellum. I colored them on the back side of the vellum with a white chalk pen which I forgot I bought. I then hand cut them out so it looked like wrappers on the mints.
The background is some paper from a Christmas 6X6 pad.
The crooked sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp and heat embossed with red embossing powder.
