For my card I used kraft paper and a Sizzix/Tim Holtz embossing folder for the wood grain background . I went over the embossing with Quick Quotes inks Mocha Mama and Amaretto. For the ornaments I used a Hero Arts set called Decorate Your Holidays and embossed with white powder on the same kraft paper. For the hangers I upcycled some white ribbon that was from a glow stick package. The sentiment is from a Sizzix/Tim Holtz die set.
Merry Monday’s Challenge this week was to create a card that is snowy.
Merry Monday Challenge 202
I felt like doing something other than snowman for snowy so here we go with a tree. I just got the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Tree Blueprint stamp die set from a store unfortunately closing which means there is nothing but box stores close now. I do shop at them but I would rather support the small mom and pop stores. Anyway..
For the background I used Memory Box stencil Tiny Snowflakes and Hero Arts white pigment ink on kraft.
The tag I had in my stash and I used a Tim Holtz Burlap stencil and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.
The tree and sentiment is from the Blueprint set. I stamped the tree with brown Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I “painted” the tree with Distress Inks. I cut it out using the die in the set and popped it up with pop dots which is hard to see in the photo.
The sentiment I stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and cut it out with the die in the set. The sentiment is stamped with Distress Ink.
The theme for this weeks challenge at Merry Monday #198 is Christmas Carols. I am entering this in the Merry Monday Challenge. I did not have to many stamps with the words for carols so this is it. The background is stamped with a Stampington & Company stamp called Sheet Music. I used Hero Arts white satin pearl embossing powder. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp from the set Chalkboard Messages (CG619) and embossed with Hero Arts white embossing powder.
Merry Monday’s Challenge for this week is black, white and silver/gray.
Merry Monday Challenge 196
I first thought this was a difficult color scheme for Christmas. I mentioned it in passing to my son who sees a lot of the cards I make. He came up with the idea of the scene and looking through the snow at the scene. So.. here it is. He did not see the inspiration image.
To create this card I cut the hills out of textured gray paper with a Taylored Expressions die called Rolling Hills (TE187). I stamped the trees from the Hero Arts set Family & Friends (CL803) and did some masking to create depth with the trees. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink that I got just recently which worked really nice for this. For the snowflakes I used a Memory Box stamp called Snow Flurry and some Encore Silver pigment ink. The greeting is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Retro Christmas (SSS101591). After creating this I really like the color scheme and look of it.
This card was created for Merry Monday Challenge 192. The theme for this weeks challenge is berries. I like the idea they have for creating one card a week for Christmas and of course I like that they have themes which helps me a lot. I had in mind to create Christmas cards all year so this is a great challenge.
Merry Monday Challenge
All of the holly and the berry stamps are from Hero Arts set Holiday Petals and Leaves (CL787). I like that they have solid leaves and outline leaves in this set. The sentiment is from Hero Arts set Peace & Joy (CL880). The two rounded corner rectangles are cut with Heartfelt Creations dies from Cut Mat Create 2A & 2B. The inks are from Hero Arts first card kit. I colored the berries in with Copics a little more after stamping to make them a little more bold. The sentiment is embossed with brown powder. The edges are inked with Quick Quotes Amaretto ink.
