Happy New Year!

Here we are starting another year and I have not posted for a bit. I got way bogged down by all the Christmas stuff. I am supposed to be taking down all my decor right now….

Boy Scout Quick Card

A very quick simple card for the Boy Scouts. In our area they offer to pick up Christmas trees for a suggested donation of $5. We have them pick it up every year. Some say why pay to get rid of the tree but we say let’s help out the Scouts. So the money went in this card under the door mat. The tree was out on the curb.

I used a Heidi Swapp stencil and some Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink to create the chevron pattern on a kraft card. The thank you is from Hero Arts set Good Luck (AC034). The ink for the sentiment is Versafine Onyx Black. I wish the sentiment was just a tiny bit darker. The inspiration for this card was a card someone sent us that was kraft with a bold black thank you and some white highlights. I liked the look so I kept the card (not handmade) for inspiration.

Warm Wishes Christmas

I was inspired to make this card from challenge #214 on Merry Monday located here. I didn’t quite make it for the challenge since I was getting ready to go out of town and got sidetracked by other things. The challenge was to create a card using something warm.

The background paper and the red strip are from my stash.

The pattern on the coffee cup was created by stamping a few flowers from Hero Arts set Holiday Petals & Leaves (CL787) and embossing with gold and red powder. The steam was stamped with an Avocado Arts stamp from the Perfect Blend set. The cup was a stamp from The Ton set Tea Party but that is coffee in that cup.

The sentiment is from an Art Impressions set called Holly Jolly (4667) and embossed in gold.

I spattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold on the green paper around the coffee cup.
