Tim Holtz Crazy Cats Birthday Card

Recently I made a card for a friend that has two cats. Of course I had to use some Tim Holtz cats. I used Crazy Cats. I am really happy how this turned out.

Stampers Anonymous Crazy Things

The background for my card is a piece I created some time ago. I think I smooshed some Distress Oxide ink onto watercolor paper. I stamped the yarn balls and fish bones, from the Crazy Cats set, using a brown Distress Oxide ink. It is hard to see but I also stamped the numbers from the Faded Type stamp set in a light green Distress Oxide ink. They are kind of hard to spot.

The sentiment is stamped.

For the cats I ink blended Black Soot and Hickory Smoke. I then stamped the cats over the ink and heat embossed using black embossing powder. I stamped the eyes again and cut them out and glued them to the cats and added Glossy Accents. I cut the cats out by hand.

The present and the balloon is from the Crazy Things set. I smooshed some Distress Oxide on a mat and watercolored the present. For the balloon I used a glaze pen to make it shiny. The milk bottle is from Crazy Cats set and it has Glossy Accents on it and the label is colored in with a Copic pen. I cut all of these out by hand. The balloon string was drawn on.

Entered over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge with the theme We’re On A Roll. I have a couple balls of yarn stamped on my background.

Fundraiser Thank You Cards

Howdy! For many years now I have been participating in a walk to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. The past several years my friend Julie and I have had some fun creating outfits to wear for the walk. The thing about the walk is folks decorate bras. We go a little further with it. Sometimes we go with the theme for the year and sometimes something random. This year the theme was Quest for a Cure and they mentioned what an elephant symbolizes when thinking about fighting breast cancer. We ended up making elephant costumes. I really like helping with this fundraiser and I really appreciate all my friends and family who donate. Many of them year after year. Here we are in our costumes.

Here are several pictures of the cards I made to thank those who donated and Julie who I walk with and another friend who helped with the outfits but could not join us on the walk.

I got the logo for this years walk from the organization and we used it as part of our outfits and I used it for the thank yous. There is a bunch of card photos. Most are slightly different. I made 11 of them and I am not one to keep making the exact same card. Small changes make it different enough for me most of the time. Besides the patterned paper I used a rectangular die, glimmer pen, pink glitter, maybe some clear Nuvo, a sentiment stamp (I stamped the first two with the sentiment after the photo) and Glossy Accents.

For my son and hubby. I didn’t use any glitter just shimmer which looks like to much in the photo but wasn’t that shimmery.
The two girl card was for the girl that actually created the costumes and walked with me. There is a bit more glimmer on these two. The other card was for our helper.
