Tim Holtz Scribbly Butterflies Thank You Card

I have a butterfly thank you card for you today. I like butterflies and need to use them more often.

Tim Holtz Ledger Script

So happy with how my card turned out considering I wasn’t sure about the background colors when I first made it. I started off smooshing Distress inks for the background which I did some time back. I used Distress Inks Speckled Egg, Wilted Violet, Wild Honey. I cut the butterflies out and they were just sitting around. You know how finally some pieces  just fall together.

When I started putting this together I stamped over that smooshed background with a flower stamp using Distress Paint and and text stamp using Distress Ink.

I die cut the butterflies and sentiment from black paper and then put some Antique Bronze Distress Paint on them.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Pine Branch Christmas Card

Here is another one of my Christmas cards. Slowly building up the stash.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon

For the background I did some Distress ink smooshing on Distress Cracked Leather paper with a couple of Distress inks including Crackling Campfire. I also added in a little gold metallic ink.
I used the Sizzix Pine Branch die set to cut out the pine cones and branches. I colored the pine cones and branches with Distress Oxide ink and Distress inks. I then glued the pine cones on to some brown paper and hand cut around them.  Each pine branch is cut in two.
I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Christmas Ribbon die and some Distress Kraft-Stock metallic paper to die cut the sentiment.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Feathered Friends Birthday Card

Howdy! I am happy to say I think this wraps up my January cards. I have another Tim Holtz bird card for you. I love how this one came out. It may just a bit brighter here in the photo than it is in person.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Wildflowers die set

For the background I used the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper. Below you can see the panel before I added all the die cuts on top. That is probably closer to the real color of it. I ink blended Peacock Feathers and Gathered Twigs on that woodgrain paper. I went over the knots with a Distress Crayon to highlight them. I inked around the edges of the panel also.

I die cut some things from the Wildflowers die set and colored them with Lucky Clover and inked a tad around the edges with a brown. I glued those to the background and over the pot.

I die cut the pot from some woodgrain patterned paper and ended up going over it with ink.  I added a few highlights with a dark brown Distress crayon. The band was also die cut and I used Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on it.

The birds were die cut from watercolor paper. I like using for it’s watercolor properties of course and it also gives some texture. I watercolored the birds using Rusty Hinge & Wild Honey inks for the bigger bird and Milled Lavender & Seedless Preserves for the smaller bird.

I just love how the woodgrain paper looks with whatever color on it and the knots highlighted. So here is a view before it got covered up.

Tim Holtz Feathered Cardinal Or Is It

Ha just having a little fun. Of course it is a cardinal but I created my first card with it and made it a blue jay. I am not sure why but that is the way it went. I actually love cardinals and wish I could see one in person. We do not have them where I live.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Celebration Words ScriptI had some fun doing some different things with this card! The background… I will just say I love the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper! I ink blended over the woodgrain and then went over the knots in the wood with a Distress crayon.

The die cut wreaths have grit paste on them that is mixed with two different Distress brown reinker colors.

The green sprigs are die cut and colored with Distress ink.

The blue jay was die cut from watercolor paper using the Feathered Cardinal die. I used Black Soot, Speckled Egg, Chipped Sapphire and Faded Jeans Distress ink on it. There is a little drop of Nuvo Drops for the birds eye.

For something a little different than I usually do I die cut the sentiment for the inside of the card. It was die cut from the Tim Holtz woodgrain paper and I tapped it all over with two different Distress inks.

Sizzix Tim Holtz Mini Paper Snowflakes

Today I have a couple snowflake cards I created.

Since I created these about a month ago and did not take good notes I may not remember all the details.

For the backgrounds I used Distress and Distress Oxide Inks. I did smooshing and a bit of splattering.

For one set of snowflakes and sentiment I used the Tim Holtz foil sheets and it looks like Alcohol ink. The other set of snowflakes and sentiment I am not sure what I did. Possibly I used the metallic paper.

The snowflakes are die cut using the Sizzix die set Mini Paper Snowflakes.

The sentiments are die cut using the Sizzix die set Script Holiday Words.

And.. drum roll. Here is my final Thanksgiving card.

Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder

For the background on this card I used a woodgrain embossing folder. Then used some Distress ink over the woodgrain.

The leaves and the acorn are die cut from metallic papers.

Thanksgiving Cards Using Stamplistic The Great Pumpkin

Now for a few Thanksgiving cards on this post. Playing catch up still…

I stamped this interesting pumpkin a few times and did different things with it. Which one is your favorite?

For this one I colored it with Copic markers and cut it out by hand. I think I put some foam tape under it for some dimension. The background is Tim Holtz woodgrain paper with Distress ink and maybe some Distress Crayon. The sentiment is stamped.

The background for this is smooshed inks and then I used a few Tim Holtz stamps on it.  The crooked sentiment is stamped. For this pumpkin I stamped different sections on different colors of ink smooshed papers and cut them out by hand. The stem, vine and leaves are all paper pieced on the pumpkin.

And last but not least.. This pumpkin was stamped on kraft paper and then colored with pencils. As you can probably see I did not cut this one out but just layered up the panels.

Tim Holtz Funky Foliage Wreath

Here’s another one of my Thanksgiving cards. I love all the fun leaves and such that come with this die set.

The background for this card I made some time ago. It’s probably sprays.

The wreath base is die cut twice in different colors of brown. The acorns, mushrooms and leaves are die cut from Distress ink and Distress Oxide ink panels that were ink smooshed.

The sentiment is stamped.

Tim Holtz Sea Life Thank You Card

Here’s a quick card I made for the young man next door who took care of our house while we were away.

I did some ink smooshing on a panel, stamped the octopus and sentiment. There is also some texture that can be seen in the photo below much better. I used the Tim Holtz Bubbles stencil and some texture paste to create the ocean water look.

Tim Holtz Sealife Birthday Card

Here I am with another sealife card. You might say I love this stamp set. It stamps the details very nicely!

This time I will start with the critters and sentiment. I stamped the crab and the lobster and colored them in with Copics. Then I cut each one out by hand.

The sentiment is heat embossed with a pearl embossing powder and then rectangle cut out with a die.

Hero Arts Fishing Net Bold Prints

The backgrounds for these types of cards are always fun to make. Guess what I did something different.. ink smooshing. Ha. I used Distress and Distress Oxides in Speckled Egg, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans. I also threw in a little white metallic ink. I went over that with the Tim Holtz Bubbles stencil and I stamped over it with a fishing net stamp. I used the Sealife set to stamp the fish and the seaweed. I inked around the edges of the panel also. I could almost leave it just like that.
