Thanksgiving Cards

Howdy! Today I have several Thanksgiving cards. Not tons like Halloween…

Hero Arts Autumn

For my first card I did the alcohol lift technique. This one came out very nice. I made the panel some time ago. If I remember right the lift technique works better with regular alcohol ink than it does with the pearl alcohol ink. I used clear stamps. For the sentiment I heat embossed it with maybe rose gold embossing powder.

SuppliesĀ – Alcohol ink, Alcohol lift ink, Hero Arts Autumn stamp set (leaves), Hero Arts Happy Thanksgiving (sentiment), embossing powder, corner rounder

Cheery Lynn Designs Small Leaves

This is the card that got me going on the Thanksgiving cards. I had stamped the pumpkin on the canvas some time ago and then colored it with Copics. I picked two patterned papers from the same pad. Then glued the pumpkin on those. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. I die cut the leaves and then inked them with Oxide Distress ink and a bit of the Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic ink (love them). I am just going to say it this is not my favorite card.

SuppliesĀ – Hero Arts Happy Thanksgiving stamp set, gold embossing powder, Gold Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic ink, Oxide Distress ink, Cheery Lynn Designs Small Leaves die set, Copic pens

Cheery Lynn Designs Small Leaves Die Set

Here’s another one where I had the background done awhile ago. I stamped the leaves and acorns using Versamark ink on kraft paper. I highlighted them using a gold pen. I die cut several leaves and added Oxide Distress ink and some gold Glimmer Metallic ink with an ink blending tool. The sentiment is heat embossed.

SuppliesĀ – Hero Arts Holiday Petals & Leaves stamp set, Lawn Fawn Thankful Mice stamp set (sentiment), Cheery Lynn Designs Small Leaves die set, Jelly Roll Gold Metallic pen, gold embossing powder, Oxide Distress ink, Hero Arts Gold Glimmer Metallic ink

Hero Arts Autumn Stamp Set

I think I also had this background/panel done awhile back. These are such pretty leaves to heat emboss which is done on kraft paper. The label is die cut and the sentiment is heat embossed. Throw on a couple sequins and you are done.

SuppliesĀ – Hero Arts Autumn stamp set, embossing powder, Hero Arts Happy Thanksgiving stamp set (sentiment), sequins, Spellbinders Labels Four die set

Cheery Lynn Designs Small Leaves

Here we are with the last one. A note about the photo location… My hub made me a little shelf and attached it to the fence so I could take photos there of my cards. Super nice of him.

Now about the card. I picked some more patterned papers from the same paper pad for the background. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold. I die cut several leaves and added Oxide Distress ink and some gold Glimmer Metallic ink with an ink blending tool. I did a little inking around the edge of the card.

Simon Says Stamp Gnome Thank You

Hello! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. We did and I may not need to eat for a day or two. Ha. Now it’s time to catch up on some cards. I have a thank you card for a friend using the super cute Simon Says Stamp Gnome.

Papertrey Ink Cover Plate

I love this little gnome die! This was an easy card to make but such fun with that gnome. The colors on the background look pink but they are a red/purple.

The background is made with a cover plate die.

The gnome cut out a few times to get the different sections cut from different papers. It is all one piece. For the nose on the gnome I just colored it with a Copic pen.

The thanks is die cut.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2019

Hi I am here to share a card made with the October 2019 My Monthly Hero kit. Finally.

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2019

So here we are with a retro card from the retro kit. I had to get a little advice from my son (28) while making this and I liked his suggestions. I removed the traditional snowflakes and maybe one other little change. I started out wanting a look like I have but I was trying to use several of the papers that came in the kit. That paper part didn’t work out. I had to many snowflakes and retro things on the first background so I redid that. You know we go thru steps/changes to get to the end. I love the finished card. The only thing I would change is that silver on the car. I wish it was kind of smoother if you will.

So… the car was stamped on the red paper from the kit and then cut out with the die from the kit. For the lug nuts, trim and mirror I used a Gelly Roll silver pen that wasn’t flowing super nice. I like the color of the silver though. The windows have clear Nuvo on them.

The tree and present were also stamped on the kit paper. These were also cut out with the dies from the kit. The ornaments and ribbon are colored with gold and silver.

The sentiment and the other things (not sure what you call them) on the background are from the kit also and just stamped on the background.

Reverse Confetti Thanks Square Die Quick Card

Hello to you all! If you need a quick thank you card this is it. My son asked if I would create a thank you for him.

I started the card by cutting out the thanks with a die. I did ombre ink blending on it. Well at least that was what I was trying to do. I looks ok not great I would say. I used Oxide Distress inks.

Then I just found a paper from my paper pad stash that would go with it.

Glue them all together and you are done.

Supplies:

  • Reverse Confetti Thanks Square die
  • Oxide Distress Inks

Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti Die

Here’s a little Christmas card I created. I have a large stash of Christmas cards so I don’t need much more for this year. So the ones I have been creating are more for fun than oh no I need more Christmas cards. I like it that way.

First off I used the Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti die to cut out the background. I then backed that with some pretty dark blue paper. I sprayed over that with some shimmer spray.

I die cut the two smaller paper layering snowflakes and sprayed them with shimmer spray too. Then I glued on the snowflakes carefully so I could pop all the pieces.

I die cut a banner and heat embossed with silver for the sentiment.

You see that little white snowflake? That is two of the snowflakes from the panel die cutting (confetti). Unfortunately something got on the front of the card and that covers it up.

Supplies:

  • Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti Die
  • Hero Arts Paper Layering Snowflakes die set
  • Hero Arts Warm Animals stamp set – sentiment
  • Silver Embossing Powder
  • Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners die set
  • Shimmer Spray

Hero Arts Everything Flowers & Colored Pencils

Here we go with a birthday card for my sister-in-law.

Here is another case of using something you have in your stash. I stamped the flowers with white pigment ink on kraft paper. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I have had this around for quite awhile. What I added to it when I just put it together is the die cut sentiment which is and nice deep purple.

Supplies:

  • Hero Arts Everything Flowers background stamp
  • White pigment ink
  • Prismacolor pencils
  • Simon Says Stamp Painted Happy Birthday die

Rubbernecker Stamps Stokes Coffee Card

Hello! Here I am with another coffee card. I started it for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers blog hop but I started it way to late so it didn’t make it to the hop. The cool thing is I made another card which is always fun.

I love the coffee owls by Rubbernecker Stamps. I was lucky to win 3 of them from one of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers hops.

This owl is Stokes and I stamped him on the die cut rectangle and colored him with Copics. One of the mats is cut with a die and the other just with the paper trimmer and then I used a corner rounder.Ā  Sometimes what looks like a simple card takes some time when you have to find the perfect papers! The background paper is something I have had around for quite awhile in a coffee paper folder. You can’t really tell but there is a large steam pattern all over it.

The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx black which is one of my very favorite black inks when you want nice and bold.

Stamplorations Digital Image A Cup for the Holidays

Howdy! I made this card for the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Unfortunately the clock ended early so this did not make it in.

I used a digital image from Stamplorations which I think was a freebie from them which is so nice of them. I love that it is a nice festive Christmas coffee image.

I opened the digital image in Word and sized it for the card. I like using Word if I can since there is a ruler. I like all the things around the cup! I colored everything with Copics. I added a bit of puff embossing powder on the coffee. The snowflakes have some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer on them which doesn’t really show in the photo. I added the snowflakes to the cup using white pigment ink.

The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink stamp set.

The two patterned papers are from the same paper pad.

There is a layer of fun foam under the die cut mats.

Supplies:

  • Papertrey Ink stamp set – Deck the Halls – sentiment
  • Stamplorations Digital Image – A Cup for the Holidays
  • Freebie in a Crafty Magazine – Winter Wonderland stamp set – snowflakes
  • Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen
  • Copic pens
  • Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink
  • Hero Arts Puff embossing powder
  • Spellbinders Curved Rectangles die set

Rubbernecker Stamps Coffee Blanket

Howdy! The fun is happening again! It is the 2019 Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Check it out and join in. Today is the last day.

When thinking about what I could create I pulled out this fun Rubbernecker Stamp set. When I saw the cat I decided to create a card for a friend who has two cats. I love it when you start out not really knowing what to make and then the ideas start flowing.

I die cut the tag and stamped the cats and colored them with Copics. One has silver on the scarf fringe and the coffee cup and the other gold. I added the washi tape to ground the cats. Then sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set.

Then I dug around in my stash to find some fun papers. The red is a sparkly paper not glitter paper really. The plaid is from a paper pad.

Supplies:

  • Rubbernecker Stamps – Coffee Blanket stamp set
  • Copic Pens
  • Simon Says Stamp – Retro Christmas stamp set
  • Wink of Stella Pens – gold and silver
  • Washi Tape
  • DCWV Mat Stack – Very Merry
  • Bakers Twine
  • Stamp of Approval – Tags, Etc. Dies set

Halloween Cards… Lot’s of them

Happy Halloween…. almost! I got a new stamp set if you saw my Halloween Thank You post and that just got me rolling on making Halloween cards. I love Halloween and I intend to send cards every year but it doesn’t always happen. So hang on tight because here I go.

Uh oh I am kind of forgetting how I did this. I think I stamped the two pumpkins and the things with them first along with the spider web. I colored the pumpkins with Copics.

Then I made masks to cover them up so I could ink blend the background using Oxide Distress ink. I then ended up tracing over the outlines to make them a little more bold.

I stamped the sentiment and wasn’t happy with it but moved things around so I tried to line up the sentiment again to stamp it again. I was close but not quite but I think you can get away with a shadow look for a Halloween card. Then I ink blended around the sentiment with yellow to help make it stand out.

Supplies: Hampton Art Halloween stamp set, Oxide Distress Ink, Copic markers

This one was fun once I got the background figured out. Cutesy doesn’t go with this pumpkins. The background is ink blended with Oxide Distress inks. Then I stamped on it with a text stamp, the spider webs, spider and sentiment.

Probably the most fun was making that fence. I had a fence die cut but I wanted more to it. First I used some Chunky Metallic embossing powder on it. Then I wanted more black to it so I put on another layer of the metallic embossing powder and sprinkled some black embossing powder on it too. It came out pretty cool. A bit more shiny than I would like but I still really like it.

The pumpkins are stamped and then colored with Copic pens. I cut them out by hand. I actually have dies for them but I don’t always want to white edge.

Supplies: Sizzix/Tim Holtz Mini Halloween 3 (webs, spider, 2 other images), Sizzix/Tim Holtz Jack-O-Lantern stamp set, Stampendous Chunky Metallic Embossing Enamel, Copic pens, Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday stamp set (sentiment), Hero Arts La Letter text stamp

This one is a lot like my Halloween Thank You card posted here.Ā  The background is ink blended and splattered with water. I inked around the edges of the card with the purple ink.

All the stamps are from the Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Mini Halloween 3 stamp set.

Supplies: Oxide Distress ink most likely, Stampers Anonymous set mentioned above.

Here’s a card with Hero Arts Reactive ink blending for the background. I stamped the spider web over the ink blending. I stamped a Crazy Bird and the accessories and colored them with Copics. I die cut two layers for the sentiment.

Supplies: Inkadinkado Spiderwebs stamp set, Hero Arts Reactive Ink, Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy stamp set, Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings stamp & die set Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Crazy Things stamp set (pumpkin & witches hat)

This image is so cute and I colored it some time ago with Copics. Another one I am finally using from my stash. The background is Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The sentiment is die cut maybe two times and glued together. The hen and the mat are cut out with Spellbinders dies.

Supplies: Lawn Fawn Fall Plaid Paper, La-La Land Crafts Clover on Pumpkins stamp, Copic Markers, Spellbinders Circle dies, Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings stamp & die set

This cute little image is by La-La Land Crafts and I got this when I took a class with Irina the owner of La-La Land at a local store. It was a Copics class and I didn’t think I liked coloring with them because it was to hard to do. Well fast forward and don’t ask how many Copics I have and how often I use them. Lots! I am not that big of a fan of what I call dolly kind of images but I love this one and I think Irina is very talented. So on to the card…. I colored Marci with Copics. I cut her and the mat out with a die. I stamped the sentiment.

Suuplies: Basic Grey Patterned Paper, Hampton Art Halloween set (sentiment), La-La Land Crafts Witch Marci, Copic Pens, My Favorite Things Pierced Rectangles Dies

An easy one with no stamping or die cutting. What? I love this Authentique paper and this image is perfect to send to my sister-in-law. It took me longer to figure out how to lay it out than to put it together. My brain wants to center everything which can get kind of boring. I inked around the edge of the orange paper.

Supplies: Authentique Enchanted Halloween Patterned Paper, Black Ink, Twine

I found this stamp in Southern California in a store that was closing. I live in Northern California and I was down visiting my Dad and his girlfriend. Such a cute scene. I colored the scene with Copics. I heat embossed the sentiment. I forgot to powder before embossing which I do about half the time. I figure with Halloween designs they can get away with things being a little off.

Supplies: Northwoods Rubber Stamp Halloween Scene, Copic Pens, Hampton Arts Halloween stamp set (sentiment), Sparkle and Sprinkle Tuscan Star Embossing Powder.

For this card I found that spider web die cut in my stash so I found papers that go with it to make the card. The sentiment has 3 layers of paper layered together the bottom two are black. I stamped Mr. Bones, his tie and hat on paper that was part of the same line. I glued black paper on the back of the skull, tie, hat to give a bit more dimension. I cut all of those out by hand. I added gold and the black Glaze (Jelly Roll pens) to the hat.

Supplies: Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Mini Halloween stamp set, Jelly Roll Metallic Gold and Black Glaze pens, Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings stamp & cut set (sentiment), Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Crazy Things stamp set (hat & bow tie)Ā

I guess I liked Mr. Bones.. At first I was thinking what am I going to do with this stamp. I like how both of my Mr. Bones cards turned out. The spider web I made some time ago with an embossing folder and it looks like I inked the folder. This is the debossed side. I stamped Mr. Bones and die cut around him. I colored the hat and bow tie with Copics and cut them out by hand. The sentiment is die cut from white paper and colored with a Copic pen. There is a bit of gold from a metallic Jelly Roll pen on the hat.

Supplies:Ā Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Mini Halloween stamp set, Jelly Roll Metallic Gold pen, Hero Arts Halloween Trimmings stamp & cut set (sentiment), Stampers Anonymous/Tim Holtz Crazy Things stamp set (hat & bow tie), Sizzix Spider Web embossing folder, Spellbinders Oval die

Ok if you are still with me this is the last one.

This is a stamp from Stamptember at Simon Says Stamp. It is a SSS/Brutus Monroe stamp set called Autumn Greetings. I pretty closely copied Nichol Spohr’s card because I love her card so much and the other one that she created. That is what made me hit the button and get this stamp. Take a look here to see her cards! The scene is colored with Copic pens and I used a black Glaze pen on the bats on the moon and the pumpkin face. The base of the globe is also colored with Copics. The sentiment is heat embossed from the same set. Over the scene I put Hero Arts Crystal Clear Lacquer. I need to practice that some more..Ā  The background is ink blended with Oxide Distress inks. I splattered a little shimmer spray on the background by spraying a bit on my craft mat and using a little paint brush. The stars.. I added them but I am not crazy about them.

Supplies: Simon Says Stamp/Brutus Monroe Autumn Greetings stamp set, Copic Pens, Jelly Roll Black Glaze pen, Hero Arts Crystal Clear Lacquer Pen, Oxide Distress Ink, Judikins Black Detail Embossing Powder, Imagine Crafts Shimmer Spritz

***If you made it to the end can you answer two questions in the comments?

Which card do you like best?

Is there too many cards in this post and would it be better to put maybe 3 in a post?***

Thanks so much for looking! I had lot’s of fun and somehow lot’s of ideas came to me.
