Hero Arts Scramble 158 was hosted by Cindy and she had a theme of create a postcard. I went very literal and created a postcard I can send someone.
To create my postcard I used mixed media paper so it is nice and thick.
All the stamping on this is stamps from the Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero 2017 set. This is the first time that I have had a chance to use this set. Lot’s of fun images in it.
I colored the barrel and flowers with Copics using a little masking where the bunch of flowers go into the barrel and covering the main images while splattering.
The leafy branch was stamped with Quick Quotes Seafoam ink.
Then I splattered some Color Shine spray also seafoam.
I stamped all of the lines and postage stamp spot with different stamp sets. When I was coloring on the other side with copics I forgot that it would show on this side.
The line down the middle is from an Avocado Arts set called Bold Celebrations. I forgot to erase my pencil line for the photo but it is gone now.
The address lines is a stamp from Hero Arts set Stamp Your Story Remember (AC028).
The postage stamp area is a stamp by All Night Media called Postage.
Merry Mondays challenge last week was stockings. At first I thought I don’t really have any stamps or dies for that. But.. I remembered the stamp set from Avocado Arts. How we remember these things from all the hundreds of stamps we have I don’t know. These stocking are not a Christmas set. It is a friends set and has random images with it. The striped stockings were as is and I colored them red and green and the very top of the stocking is colored with gold Wink of Stella. The two polka dot stockings were the opposite direction so I stamped them on acetate and then put paper and the acetate together and now the stockings go the same direction as the others. I colored those green and then used a Hero Arts Cling Dot background stamp (CG139) and some glitter embossing powder to make them polka dotted. The twine hanging the stockings is red & white twine, green & white twine and a thin gold thread twisted all together. The brick background is a Tim Holtz embossing folder. The problem with it was the bricks went the wrong direction so I had to move the paper over in the embossing folder to make it go across horizontally. I added a bit of gray ink on the bricks so they were not all white. The sentiment is one of my very favorite Merry Christmas dies. It is by Find It Trading. I put some Versamark on it and embossed with glitter embossing powder but it doesn’t show up that well.
I was inspired to make this card from challenge #214 on Merry Monday located here. I didn’t quite make it for the challenge since I was getting ready to go out of town and got sidetracked by other things. The challenge was to create a card using something warm.
The background paper and the red strip are from my stash.
The pattern on the coffee cup was created by stamping a few flowers from Hero Arts set Holiday Petals & Leaves (CL787) and embossing with gold and red powder. The steam was stamped with an Avocado Arts stamp from the Perfect Blend set. The cup was a stamp from The Ton set Tea Party but that is coffee in that cup.
The sentiment is from an Art Impressions set called Holly Jolly (4667) and embossed in gold.
I spattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold on the green paper around the coffee cup.
