Stay Crafty With Hero Arts Challenge Card

Howdy! I have a card today that I created for the Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge. The theme for the challenge is Creative Bug Inspiration.

Here is another couple pictures to show more details about the card. The second picture you will see a slight difference. I kept looking and decided the ornaments needed something to hang by.

Hero Arts Decorate Your Holidays
In this one you can see the glitter paper behind the snowflakes (kind of). And there is some glare on the acetate so you know its there.
The added hangers.

So over at Creative Bug Libby did a series using Hero Arts products. For the theme you were to get some inspiration from her cards. I choose Day 17 where she made a card base using acetate and card stock. I hardly ever use acetate so I thought this was a good one.

For the card base you attach an acetate panel and a cardstock panel to the white paper that is the hinge for your card. Then you glue a die cut panel to the back of the acetate. For the inside/back of my card I used silver glitter paper. Libby does a good job of explaining it and it is much better to see what she does.

The ornaments are stamped and heat embossed on silver glitter paper. I wasn’t sure how the embossing would work on the glitter paper. It came out curled but fine. I then cut them out by hand.

The sentiment is stamped with silver pigment ink.

Supplies:

  • Hero Arts Snowflake Confetti Fancy Die
  • Hero Arts Decorate Your Holidays Stamp Set
  • Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Stamp Set
  • Silver Glitter Paper
  • Hero Arts Acetate

Here is another card I made that is similar because I like that card design and I wasn’t crazy about the card above.

Papertrey Ink Quatrefoil Die

For this card I did a few things differently. Since the cover plate die cut was so open I lined the inside of the front of the card with a red panel. This was done to cover glue that was showing. There is acetate at the bottom half of the card with the cover die cut and red panel under it.

For the ornament I die cut it once from kraft paper and once from green paper and as you can see inlaid the green pieces back into the ornament.

There is a piece of gold washi tape across the middle and the sentiment is heat embossed using white embossing powder.

Supplies:

  • Papertrey Ink Cover Plate Quatrefoil die
  • Hero Arts Joyful Tidings Tag Set stamp and die
  • Acetate panel
  • Gold Washi Tape
  • Hero Arts White Embossing Powder
