I enjoy going to our local thrift store Savers to look for stamps. I have so many already but it is such fun to find some good ones for a good price. This week I got a bag of several very little or not used Hero Arts stamps for $9. Score! All of them are from 2009. And.. I will take the senior discount of 30%. Sometimes I don’t like to admit I’m there but sometimes I take the discount. Some places have what I call a younger age for seniors such as Savers. I am a few years from 60.
Every once in awhile I drop in a thrift store called Savers to look for crafty stuff. I hit it today! I usually look for stamps which I find some good ones a couple times a year. Today I found these Cotman WaterColours. When I saw the word Cotman on the box I knew I needed to check it out. So I took a chance and bought it. The bag was priced at $3.99 and I had a 30% off coupon so it ended up $2.79. They package stuff in baggies so this baggie had the paints, a small Xyron sticker maker, little postit type page flag things and glue sticks for a hot glue gun. I already have the sticker maker but I can use up the roll in it. I have a need for some glue sticks coming up very soon so that is good plus they last quite awhile.
When something is still in the box they either didn’t use it or took good care of it so the chances were that things would be in good shape. Look at the outside box. It looks older. After a quick look I could not find this box online. The current version of these sells for around $25. The price on the box I got is $14.95 and then marked down to $5.99. I got it for about $1.25. Each paint pan is sealed up still. Hopefully the paint is ok. My other great find was a box of Derwent water color pencils that I got for a few bucks and they were all pretty much brand new. It’s just fun to find something exciting once in awhile.
