Hero Arts My Monthly Hero August 2018 Coffee Cafe

Hello I still have coffee on my mind. Lets face it I do every morning. I enjoy my cup! Here is one I was making for the Coffee Lovers Hop but I lollygagged to much and didn’t get to post it. I am really pleased with how it came out.

First I die cut the cafe from watercolor paper. I watercolor painted everything using Distress Oxide ink. There is a tiny bit of white shimmer ink on the coffee steam.

Then I created the blue background using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I smooshed watercolor paper on my mat where the watered down ink was. For the awning I painted the sections red then glued a strip of watercolor paper on the underside of the die cut for the other awning stripes. I cut a piece of the blue background and glued it behind the window above the awning. For the gray above the awning I painted pieces of watercolor paper with gray and a tiny bit of black Distress Oxide ink. The heart on the sign in the kit is an outline heart but I painted it in solid.

The sentiment is just stamped.

I also entered this over at the Die Cut Divas May challenge of make it a beverage.

  1. Marvelous card and I can see that it took quite a bit of time. Love the card. So glad you entered the Die Cut Divas “Make it a Beverage” challenge for May.
