Howdy! I was lucky to get a My Monthly Hero Kit for January 2020. I am not a subscriber but I try to get in there right away and order one if I like it. Here we go with the first card I made with it.
So much fun to make this! In case you haven’t seen it this kit has many flower dies, leaf dies and a couple of butterflies along with the paper wrap and envelope.
I cut several of the flowers out of different colors of paper. I cut out the flowers again using green paper to use for the stems. I used a different green paper to cut out some leaves. I used Jennifer McGuire’s idea of adding to the die cuts using Oxide Distress ink, Copics and white chalking ink. I cut the stems away from the green flower die cuts and just glued them on top of the stems on the colored flowers.
For the paper wrap I started with off white Neenah paper. I ink blended over it with Old Paper Oxide Distress ink. I then stamped the text from the set a couple times on the wrap. I glued the wrap open to the green panel and then added in the flowers and leaves. I also added the twine bow.
The sentiment is from the set. It is also Old Paper Oxide Distress ink on off white paper and then the sentiment stamped over that. I cut out the strip using a die from the set. It is has the tails only on one end so I just put it back in the die to cut the other end. I was kind of going for the old newspaper look with the wrap and sentiment strip.
The background is a Oxide Distress ink over a stencil.
