Thanksgiving Cards

Howdy! Today I have several Thanksgiving cards. Not tons like Halloween…

Hero Arts Autumn

For my first card I did the alcohol lift technique. This one came out very nice. I made the panel some time ago. If I remember right the lift technique works better with regular alcohol ink than it does with the pearl alcohol ink. I used clear stamps. For the sentiment I heat embossed it with maybe rose gold embossing powder.

Supplies – Alcohol ink, Alcohol lift ink, Hero Arts Autumn stamp set (leaves), Hero Arts Happy Thanksgiving (sentiment), embossing powder, corner rounder

This is the card that got me going on the Thanksgiving cards. I had stamped the pumpkin on the canvas some time ago and then colored it with Copics. I picked two patterned papers from the same pad. Then glued the pumpkin on those. I heat embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. I die cut the leaves and then inked them with Oxide Distress ink and a bit of the Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic ink (love them). I am just going to say it this is not my favorite card.

Here’s another one where I had the background done awhile ago. I stamped the leaves and acorns using Versamark ink on kraft paper. I highlighted them using a gold pen. I die cut several leaves and added Oxide Distress ink and some gold Glimmer Metallic ink with an ink blending tool. The sentiment is heat embossed.

I think I also had this background/panel done awhile back. These are such pretty leaves to heat emboss which is done on kraft paper. The label is die cut and the sentiment is heat embossed. Throw on a couple sequins and you are done.

Here we are with the last one. A note about the photo location… My hub made me a little shelf and attached it to the fence so I could take photos there of my cards. Super nice of him.

Now about the card. I picked some more patterned papers from the same paper pad for the background. The sentiment is heat embossed in gold. I die cut several leaves and added Oxide Distress ink and some gold Glimmer Metallic ink with an ink blending tool. I did a little inking around the edge of the card.

  1. How wonderful to make all those Thanksgiving cards. I see your card on the Die Cut Divas’ web site, but you don’t mention entering our November challenge or linking up. However, I do want you to know that we are so glad you entered your card in our November challenge. In the future, please list our challenge with out link. I know how it is with trying to get everything listed with the supplies and then try to enter a challenge.
