FB Hero Arts Scramble #1 – My Monthly Hero July 2017

Hello! This was a fun week because Cindy was nice to start up the Hero Arts Scrambles again and this time we are in Facebook. Here is a link to the group if you would like to join. For the first FB Scramble she chose a theme of inchie/grid cards. I have not made one of those in quite awhile. I have been thinking about the My Monthly Hero July 2017 set and that I needed to use it. It worked great for this card. I used most of the small images and portions of the larger images. I don’t do so well using small images so this was perfect. Thanks Cindy!

What is fun about the Scrambles is it kind of forces you to get in there and make a card that you might not come up with on your own. That’s a good thing!

Well I love Oxide Distress Inks so there is a bunch of that on the card. I created an orange panel first with a pink/orange and 2 orange Oxide inks that I put down on my craft mat. I spritzed with water and used some mixed media paper to soak up that ink. After it dried most of the way I dipped again on the ink on my mat. I did the same with the blue panel using 2 blues. In the interest of time I dried the panels at the end with my heat tool.

I cut the orange piece into a bunch of 1 inch squares. I then used many images from the July 2017 My Monthly Hero kit and stamped them with Versafine ink.

I cut the blue panel out with a die that has some stitching around it.

When I glued all the orange squares on the blue square I glued down the 4 corners first so I could use them for nice even spacing.

Fortunately I had just enough of the blue panel left to cut out the sentiment.
