My Brothers Crazy Dog Birthday

img_5399

This is a card for my brother who has 4 dogs. He tells me the jump from 1 dog to 2 is the hard one. We had only one before that we lost ealier this year and we just adopted 2. He also said the jump from 2 to 4 is a piece of cake. Uh no I don’t think that is going to happen. He has 2 medium dogs and 2 small ones. We got 2 large ones and they are enough for me to handle and then some. They are sweet girls and get along great.

Now on to the card..

For the background I used a reverse stamp by Tim Holtz to text stamp on the embossing folder before putting the paper in. The embossing folder is Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Fancy. I did some ink blending with a red, orange and yellow Distress Inks. I don’t remember the exact colors. For some reason on this card my ink blending was working really nice for me. I struggle with getting the smooth look without the circular marks from the blending tool. I colored the Tim Holtz Crazy Dog with Copics along with the accessory hat. I cut both out by hand. I tend to prefer images without a white border. The greeting is also Tim Holtz from a set called Saying Stuff. The outline and the actual greeting are both from that set. I hand cut that out also. I have the die for it but it is a simple shape to cut by hand.

  1. Karen, I love this card… perfect for a dog lover! We have only one dog and I’m not sure about a second. They are much like children with such different personalities. We take our guy to doggie daycare twice a week so that he has play dates with his buddies.
