Fox Sleigh Ride Card

I was inspired by the Merry Monday challenge #221 Outdoor Fun. Since I didn’t have any sleigh or sled or anything like that I got a Silhoutte sleigh image and cut that out of some patterned paper. For the background I used Hero Arts set Snowflakes by Lia (CL901) stamped with Versamark. The hill I cut with a die and added a little Stickles to the top of the hill. The cute little fox is from Hero Arts set Playful Animal (CL832) and colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Hero Arts set Family & Friends (CL803).

Halloween Cards

I managed to make a few Halloween cards. The last one is just a panel not a card. The first three I made using Elizabeth Craft Designs peel-off stickers. I stuck them down on white paper and colored in all the images with Copics. The sentiment is a die from the September 2016 Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit. The shape behind the images is cut with a Spellbinders die. The patterned papers are from my huge stash. The last one was a little fun thing to put in a goodie bag that I gave to my neighbor. For that I stamped a web from an Inkadinkadoo set. The rest of the stamping was images from the September Hero Arts kit.

Snowflakes & Ornament Card

I made this card intending to submit it to Merry Monday Challenge #223. I had part of it made and knew what I was going to do but waited to finish on Sunday morning. Well every time I think that is going to happen I get up take my time, fix breakfast etc and forget to do it by 12 my time. So I still got a card done but it didn’t get submitted.

The theme for Merry Monday Challenge #223 was light blue, dark blue and pink. At first I thought I was going to struggle some. I really like the way my card turned out and love the color combination. If you would like to check out Merry Monday you can find their challenges here.

For the background on my card I used a Darice Snowflake embossing folder. I then sprayed the light blue paper with Perfect Pearls. The ornament is cut from patterned paper with a die from the Hero Arts set Joyful Tidings by Lia (DC167). The snowflakes are stamped with a stamp from Hero Arts set Swirl Christmas (CL469) with silver pigment ink. The sentiment was die cut from pink patterned paper with a die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix set of Christmas sentiments (660058). The bow was some silver ribbon/twine I saved to use on cards.

A slightly different version of the card above. The differences are the snowflakes are heat embossed with silver powder and a little silver bling in the middle of the snowflakes. A different sentiment with a gemstone to dot the i.

Our New Doggies

Meet our new furry family members! Aspen and Lucy.

My son Jeff with the girls right after we picked them.
Still by PetSmart while my hub Scott was filling out the paperwork.

Earlier this year we lost our dog Charlotte which was so darn sad. We finally got ready to adopt two dogs which we have not done before. We went to PetSmart when an organization called Stonecliffe was there with dogs to adopt. We heard a lot about them and like how they socialize the dogs, spay/neuter them, and care for them. They have a huge property and are taking in dogs all the time to save them. So we did a little research on the dogs we wanted to check out for the adoption event. We wanted girl dogs and dogs about 1 year or so old.

Aspen – She is about 2 years old. She is Shepherd Hound mix. She is kind of shy, like to bury things in the yard and skittish but very sweet.
Lucy – She is about 1 1/2 years old. She is a Border Collie mix. She has a lot of energy, friendly, loves to fetch, very sweet also.
Me, Jeff (our son), Scott (my Hub) in our yard the day we got the dogs.
Day two. Cutie dogs.
Aspen has kind of nabbed the spot under my craft table on the brown bed thing so I haven’t seen the two of them there to much.
Lucy could play fetch all day long and is very smart.
Day 3 – Trail dogs.. We took them to the regional park very close to home called Dublin Hills that we love to go to. They seemed to enjoy it too.
Day 7 – Another regional park trail called Las Trampas. They love all the smells especially what the cows leave behind.

Well we have had these two for a bit over a week. It is quite the experience. You kind of feel like you have young kids again. Someone has been home with them all the time since we got them. We just want to make sure things are ok. They get along really great. No food fights. They do some scuffling around playing with each other. What I am not sure of where the line is between playing and a dog fight. Since Lucy has so much energy we take them on two walks per day and throw the ball for Lucy a couple times a day. Aspen is not comfortable with the dark so she gets skittish so that is something we are working with and hopefully she will be more comfortable over time. Unfortunately it is kind of hard for me to walk these two by myself. They pull quite a bit and are 50 or so pounds each. It seems things are kind of settling down and routines are happening which is really nice. We are very glad to have these two sweeties with us.

On another note.. This is my 100th blog post! I have had my blog going for a little over 1 year.
