After making a card for the fun Scramble 137 theme of using a tag I decided to make another one. I like the stamps a lot from the July My Monthly Hero kit so I was looking forward to using them again. I also wanted to change the tag background color to make the inks appear more true to color. So I chose white instead of the usual manila tag color. I inked up the tag with the Dolphin Ombre ink that comes with the July My Monthly Hero set. I used some of the July kit tiny stamps, seaweed (from the July kit and from the Hero Arts set Set Sail Background CL842) and coral stamps and the optional Mermaid Ombre ink pad to complete the background. The jelly fish were stamped using the Mermaid Ombre ink pad and then cut out with the die. The sequins are part of the July monthly kit also. They are great colors.
They had towels on their list that were close to the card background color so that is why I went with that. I used the Xcut Filigree Heart die that I got as a prize from someone for a Hero Arts Scramble. The layered flowers I colored with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray in teal and inserted a brad in the middle. The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set called Penelope’s Blossoms and embossed with silver embossing powder.
I don’t go to very many weddings anymore so it was nice to go to an Open House after my son’s cousin got married. I am an ex. It was nice to visit with some of my ex in-laws. Matt, who is the one who got married, is the first of all of the cousins in that family to get married which I was excited about.
Linda is having her own Merry Monday Challenges while the other group is taking a little time off in July and August. How nice of her to do that. So this weeks was include a tree.
- The background was stamped with an Impression Obsession background stamp called Wooden Plank.
- I cut the tree out with a Spellbinder die Nested Pine Trees (S4-220). All the flowers on the tree are from Hero Arts set Holiday Petals & Leaves (CL787). I used several different red inks including some from a Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit. It is hard to see but in the middle of the flowers there are some little tiny champagne colored ball things. They are kind of crazy to work with because they go everywhere. I used some glue by Art Glitter which has a nice tiny tip for the bottle which really helps putting down tiny dots of glue.
- The greeting is a from Hero Arts set Peace & Joy (CL880). It is embossed using brown powder.
This was created for my Dad to thank him for my birthday gift. The star border was a piece I saved and it was laying on top of the dot stamped background and I liked them together. So they went on the pale orange card base. Then I stamped the thanks and gold embossed it.
Background – Hero Arts Cling Dot (CG139) stamped with Delicata gold pigment ink.
Stars – Star Parade die from Simon Says Stamp cut from a watercolor panel I created.
Sentiment – Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks (EEST J-010-15 ) embossed with Ranger Queen’s Gold powder which is my go to
I created this card for my sister thanking her for my birthday surprise and gift. My hub had her fly up and meet us and I had no idea she was coming. Super nice!
The background is stamped with an Impression Obsession background stamp called Wooden Plank and some Distress Ink.
The green layer was patterened paper cut out with a Spellbinders die called Romantic Rectangles (S5-090). The image was stamped with a Heartfelt Creations stamp from the Delicate Asters and Butterflies PreCut Set (HCPC 3499). I inked over the image with some Distress Ink. I colored the leaves and tiny flowers with Copics. I stamped some of the asters from the Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters PreCut Set (HCPC 3494) and then cut out a couple layers of different asters using their dies Delicate Asters (HCD 726). I colored the asters with Copics. The sentiment and banner die is from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero set from March 2016.
Scramble 137 hosted by LaVon was the fun theme of using a tag! Since I just got this My Monthly Hero set for July I was anxious to use it. After starting late I had to separate the dies before starting. Layered stamping usually takes me a few tries to get things lined up nice. I am not sure why I make these kind of choices during a Scramble but it all worked out. I also accidentally took the wrong lid off my glue bottle and got it all over my hand. So miraculously I got this done.
The tag is a Ranger tag that I inked up with the Ombre ink that comes with the July My Monthly Hero set. I used some of the July tiny stamps, seaweed and coral stamps and the optional Ombre Mermaid stamp pad to complete the background. The jelly fish were stamped using the Mermaid stamp pad and then cut out with the die. The sequins are part of the July monthly kit also. They are great colors. Then I stamped some coral and seaweed on the base card which is by Hero Arts.
